 See large image hereWhen I got my first 35mm SLR some 18 years back, I never dreamed of the obsession which would take hold. And I remember that during those days, I became adept to the technical operation of the equipment but there was none for the creative side. I didn't know anything about composition, making my photos mere snapshots. Yet the fun was still there and I indulged myself into buying just about every piece of equipment I had been able to buy during those hunger days in my life.
I realized such dedication paid off. I chanced upon a very satisfying hobby and I am taking better photos than I ever had. Joining My Islands Philippines is very rewarding that if I had to look back to where I started, I can see I've gone this far. I meet a lot of very nice and good people all over the Philippines and all across the globe who share the same passion and interest with me. More importantly, the site helped me immensely to develop my creativity.
In the end, the highest compliment I can pay for myself is a new digital SLR - thus, the title for this site...

About the Masthead design: Featured in my banner is a photograph of two Cebu Pacific flight stewardess during one of my travel photography stint last July of 2006. The photo was shoot at 300mm focal length, handheld, with shutterspeed of 1/80sec at F/5.6 F-stop to compensate low-light condition, ISO setting is 1600 to compensate camera shake (see the high resolution photo here). Far left is the photo of my digital SLR during its stock form. In time, it increased in size when a battery grip and telephoto lens were materialized.
